LAPA’s South Bay Section Presents: Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance Basics

This seminar will cover an introduction to the Medicare Secondary Payer Act (MSP), how it applies to workers’ compensation and liability cases, and what you need to know to protect your client’s interests. The presentation will include a brief overview of mandatory insurer reporting, conditional payment lien recovery, Medicare Set-Aside arrangements, and current industry hot topics.

Presenter Katharine Rupp is a Medicare Secondary Payer compliance professional with a background in risk management and compliance consulting services for entities impacted by Medicare regulations. During her tenure with MEDVAL, LLC she has worked as a senior Medicare Set-Aside Analyst, manager of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services submissions department, and as a settlement strategies consultant. She graduated with honors from Whittier Law School in 2013. While attending Whitter she clerked for several Administrative Law Judges at the Western Field Office of Medicare Appeals.
